January Wrap Up

Oh this month has flown by so fast! Which is good in a way for me, as its a super long wait to payday in Jan – but also, please don’t let 2020 go by as quickly as 2019 did…

This month I parctipated in a GrishaVerse themed readathon over on Instagram, hosted by a couple of friends. It was such fun, and urged me on to pick up some books – as I didn’t do all that much reading the last couple of months. My grand total is 8 books! Which although not a best, is the most I’ve read in a while.

The Beautiful – Renee Ahdieh

★★★★★

4.5 stars – I whipped though this book. I loved the feel of it, but it left me in the dark a lot too.

Queen of Nothing – Holly Black

★★★★★

5 stars – Am I a little let down by how this story pans out, considering the rest of this tale? Maybe. Do I really care though, as I still really enjoyed it? Nope.

The Near Witch – V E Schwab

★★★★☆

4 stars – An enchanting story, that feels like it takes you back in time.

The Guinevere Deception – Kiersten White

★★★☆☆

3 stars – I enjoyed it, but I also just felt it was missing something.

Nevernight – Jay Kristoff

★★★★★

5 stars – Re-reading ready to finally pick up Darkdawn, I think I fall more in love with this book everytime I read it.

The Starless Sea – Erin Morgenstern

★★★★★

5 stars – This story was so so beautiful! I love that we get to read the books the story centres around.

Godsgrave – Jay Kristoff

★★★★★

5 stars – Another reread, and just as fantastic as last time!

Northern Lights – Philip Pullman

★★★☆☆

3 stars – Probably my age now, but it just didn’t hold my attention. It is a fantastical story though.

About Me

Books and food enthusiast. I discovered a love for reading in my late teens, so you’ll see me catching up on older series quite often. I also love to travel around the UK, where I live, and picking up some crafty hobbies – I hope to share snippets of this amongst all the book content. Other interests include gaming, podcasts, drinking too much tea, and trying to personify autumn.
